Peter Higham Becomes a BCGBA Life Member

In a surprise, at least to one person, at the BCGBA Individual Merit at Dodworth on Saturday 26th July, Wales was honoured with, possibly, its first Life Member of the BCGBA.

The Welsh Crown Green’s current Deputy President, Peter Higham was presented with a gift, by British President, Lesley Allen at the event for a life time of achievement in crown green bowls and in recognition of his services to administration, he is now a Life member of the British Crown Green Bowling Association.

Recognition of his contribution to the sport of bowls as a County player in the 1970s and 1980s, his involvement with administration for Wales and the BCGBA, and his role as bowls ambassador serving as the BCGBA President in 2016 together with his recent appointment as Patron of the BCGRS was, in the words of the BCGBA Board, ‘long overdue’.

Our congratulations go to Peter, and our appreciation for all his hard work past and present.
