Bowls Wales Chairman Visits WCGBA

At the July 5th EGB meeting at Abergele Bowling Club, Management members were delighted to welcome the Chairman of Bowls Wales, Richard C Jones.

Richard has a delightful connection to North Wales with the ‘C’ in his name standing for ‘Colwyn’ of which he is justly proud.

He gave the meeting an update on how Bowls Wales is aiming to develop in the future and is looking forward to a strong relationship with all codes of bowls.

He was treated to personal experience of the Crown Green sport when Development Officer, Simon Walker took him onto the green. He found the experience very interesting and different from the code he usually plays. Richard was especially intrigued by the bias on the jack and the use of the whole green for play.

It was a pleasure to meet him and we look forward to meeting up again in the future.
