WCGBA Merit Entries
- The final was played on Sunday 28 June at Argoed in the Flintshire area and was won by Chris Charlton from Fron Park. Chris beat Leighton Roberts of Esclusham in the final to become the 2026 Welsh Senior Merit Champion.
- Chris and Leighton will go forward to represent Wales at the BCGBA final on Saturday 25 July, at Northern Club, Merseyside. They will be joined by losing semi finalists, James Todd and Jason Jones, and the losing quarter finalist Kris Fernley.

- Congratulations to Mark Ball who became the 2026 WCGBA Vet Merit Champion, beating Paul Richards in the Final.

- The semi-finalists were Garry Roberts and Keith Wall.
- All four players progressed to the BCGBA Jack & Jean Isherwood Veterans Final played on Wednesday 1 July, at Prees Recreation Club, Shropshire.
- Mark went out in the first round to the eventual runner up and Garry lost his second game. Paul and Keith went out in the quarter finals, Keith losing to the eventual winner, Nick Jellyman from Derbyshire.

- Congratulations to Jane Bowler who won the Ladies Merit Final played on Sunday 24 May at Hawkesbury, in the Flintshire Area.
- Jane beat Jess Lacey in a very tight final. The full draw and results can be found on the MB Bowls Results website. The six players who will go forward to represent Wales at the BCGBA Ladies Merit final on Saturday 11 July at Pennfields BC, Dudley & District are:

- Amanda Nicholas & Jenny Hadwin as quarter finalists who lost to the finalist.

- The Jack Dougal and Haiden Williams will go forward to the BCGBA Junior Merit on Sat 15 August in Ighten Mount BC, North Lancs and Fylde.
- Jack and Haiden and Ffion Gell and Amelia Northop will go forward to the BCGBA Boys Individual Merit and the BCGBA Girls Individual Merit. Both will be played on 5 September in Owley Wood.


Jake Hall becomes the 2026 18-25 WCGBa Merit winner, beating Josh Venables 21-19 in final. The merit was played on Sunday 26 July at Johnstown, Wrexham, LL14 2SU. Unfortunately there were only six participants, but the play was of a good standard.
Jake, Josh and semi finalists, Kieron Hallett and Euan Davies will all go forward to the BCGBA final at Cleckheaton B.C in Yorkshire on Sunday 9th August, starting at 10.00am. Jess Lacey and Molly Shaw-Newell may also go forward if there are available spaces.

Congratulations to Jack Hewitt who won the WCGBA Centenary Singles played on Sunday 31 May at Llay Bowling Club, Wrexham. Jack beat Chris Charlton in the final. The losing semi-finalists were Leighton Hewitt and Nicky Jones.

- Congratulations to Linda Williams and Louise Dougal who won the WCGBA Ladies Pairs on Saturday 4 July, at Aston Bowling Club in Flintshire.
- The narrowly beat Tracey and Claire Over in a tightly fought final.
- Both pairs go forward to represent Wales at the BCGBA final on Saturday 8 August at Spen Victoria

- WCGBA final will be on Sunday 23 August, at Llandudno Oval Bowling Club.
- The draw will be made on the day. Scratch will be at 9:30 am for a 9:45 am start.

Congratulations to David Griffith of Rhuddlan Bowling Club who became the 2026 WCGBA Beginner Champion on Sunday 9 August At Nercwys Bowling Club. David beat Andy Oldfield from Connah’s Quay in a final that belied the short length of time these players had been bowling.
David and Andy qualify for the British Final on Saturday 19 September at Littleover Bowling Club in Derby.
- Due to clashes with other area finals, the date has been changed to Sunday 20 September in the Wrexham area.
- The list of 16 qualifying competitions, and reserve competitions (in case of duplicate winners) will be announced later in the season.
